{"id":3110,"date":"2015-01-18T11:35:20","date_gmt":"2015-01-18T10:35:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.devco.net\/?p=3110"},"modified":"2015-01-18T11:35:40","modified_gmt":"2015-01-18T10:35:40","slug":"some-travlrmap-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.devco.net\/archives\/2015\/01\/18\/some-travlrmap-updates.php","title":{"rendered":"Some travlrmap updates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last weekend I finally got to a point of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devco.net\/archives\/2015\/01\/10\/travlrmap-1-0-0.php\">1.0.0 of my travel map software<\/a>, this week inbetween other things I made a few improvements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support 3rd party tile sets like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.openstreetmap.org\/\">Open Streetmap<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mapquest.com\/\">Map Quest<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.stamen.com\/watercolor\/\">Water Color<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.stamen.com\/toner\/\">Toner<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/cartodb.com\/basemaps\">Dark Matter and Positron<\/a>.  These let you customise your look a bit, the <a href=\"http:\/\/travlrmap-demo.devco.net\/\">Demo Site<\/a> has them all enabled.<\/li>\n<li>Map sets are supported, I use this to track my <a href=\"http:\/\/travels.devco.net\/set\/wishlist\">Travel Wishlist<\/a> vs Places I&#8217;ve been.<\/li>\n<li>Rather than list every individual yaml file in a directory to define a set you can now just point at a directory and everything will get loaded<\/li>\n<li>You can designate a single yaml file as writable, the geocoder can then save points to disk directly without you having to do any YAML things.<\/li>\n<li>The geocoder renders better on mobile devices and support geocoding based on your current position to make it easy to add points on the go.<\/li>\n<li>Lots of UX improvements to the geocoder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Seems like a huge amount of work but it was all quite small additions, mainly done in a hour or so after work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last weekend I finally got to a point of 1.0.0 of my travel map software, this week inbetween other things I made a few improvements: Support 3rd party tile sets like Open Streetmap, Map Quest, Water Color, Toner, Dark Matter and Positron.
